Dr. Vanessa Barnes Bey earned her Ph.D. from Walden University and her research is published. Dr. Barnes Bey has a career in Human Services in the areas of mental health counselling and social work. Dr. Barnes Bey is the CEO and founder of a non-profit organization established April 20, 2015: Aumi Resource Coalition and Earths Retreat Empowerment Center, Inc (ARC). Dr. Barnes Bey's mission for ARC provides educational programs, youth and adult leadership development, family health and support, career development, and housing support to help improve the quality of life for marginalized peoples of African ancestry. In 2015, Dr. Barnes Bey began working to publish her first volume of a series of activity and coloring books for children: Aumi Academy Circle of Life. The coloring book helps children and adults to explore themselves and others using astrological concepts by looking at individual characteristics. Dr. Barnes Bey in 2020, developed a virtual platform: UtalkUheal, to allow a virtual and safe platform for anyone to share their life experiences related to relationships, traumas, joys, pains, and adversity. Dr. Barnes Bey lectures on spiritual development and resiliency. Dr. Barnes Bey strives to improve the quality of life for those willing to do the work through her life coaching platform.
